A question needs no extra verb here
Hamza: Are you busy?
Noor: No, I’m not. I’m free.
Hamza: Is Sara at home?
Noor: Yes, she is. We are ready to call her.

Move one word and hear the question
Say “You are ready.” Now move are before you: “Are you ready?” Do the same with “She is here.” It becomes “Is she here?” English uses this simple switch because am, is and are can move to the front themselves.
Add not, or move the verb
For a negative, put not after am, is or are. “I am not late.” “He is not late.” “They are not late.” Common short forms are isn’t and aren’t. The normal short form for “I am not” is “I’m not.”
For a yes or no question, move am, is or are before the subject. “Are they late?” Answer with a full short-answer pattern: “Yes, they are” or “No, they aren’t.” Do not answer “Yes, they’re.” English does not normally use that contraction as a complete short answer.
| Statement | Negative | Question |
|---|---|---|
| You are ready. | You are not ready. | Are you ready? |
| She is here. | She isn’t here. | Is she here? |

منفی جملے میں not لگائیں۔ سوال میں am، is یا are کو شروع میں لائیں۔
A short answer still needs its verb
Not: Yes, I’m.
Use: Yes, I am.
Why: The positive short answer keeps the full verb.
Not: Do you are ready?
Use: Are you ready?
Why: Be questions do not need do.
