Google AdSense Approval: Requirements, Review Process and Fixes
Google AdSense approval cannot be guaranteed in three days, or in any fixed number of days. Google reviews each application and site, and its current guidance says a review usually takes a few days but may take two to four weeks. A quick decision is possible, but no checklist, consultant or publishing schedule can promise approval.
This guide replaces our older time-based advice with a practical site-readiness process based on Google’s published requirements. Use it to find issues you can control: inaccessible pages, weak navigation, policy violations, low-value content, missing disclosures and an incomplete AdSense setup.
What AdSense approval actually requires
AdSense approval is not awarded for reaching a magic number of articles, page views or months online. Google’s published eligibility guidance focuses on your ability to control the site, comply with program policies and provide original content that attracts and helps an audience. Local age restrictions also apply to the person opening the account.
A reviewer needs to see a functioning publication rather than a shell created to display ads. In practical terms, that means:
- substantial original content with a clear purpose;
- navigation that lets visitors reach the main sections and important policies;
- pages that load reliably without database errors, broken layouts or endless redirects;
- no prohibited content or deceptive behavior;
- clear ownership, contact and privacy information;
- a correctly connected AdSense account and site.
These are readiness conditions, not an approval formula. Google may consider factors not exposed in a public checklist, so treat any person promising “guaranteed AdSense approval” with caution.
What happens during the site review
After you add a site and complete the required account steps, Google checks the site and the account information. The site must be publicly reachable so the review system can access it. If pages sit behind a login, block crawlers, return server errors or are still under construction, the reviewer cannot assess the experience properly.
Google says the review usually takes a few days, but it can take two to four weeks. Do not repeatedly remove and re-add the site because a decision has not arrived in 48 hours. Confirm that the site remains connected in AdSense, then allow the stated review window.
A short rejection email may not identify a single URL. That does not prove that content volume was the cause. Review the site shown in your AdSense account, any issue details available there, and the current program policies before changing hundreds of pages on a guess.
Evaluate content as a publisher, not by word count
A 2,000-word page can still be low value if it repeats a template, paraphrases common advice or fails to answer the reader’s question. A shorter page can be useful when it solves a focused problem completely. Audit the substance rather than chasing a fixed length.
Questions to ask about every important page
- Is the purpose clear? A visitor should understand the problem and promised outcome from the title, introduction and primary heading.
- Does it add original value? Include tested steps, useful examples, analysis, diagrams, decision criteria or project work, not rewritten search results.
- Is it accurate today? Verify changing claims against primary sources and show a reviewed or updated date where freshness matters.
- Is authorship honest? Identify who created or reviewed the page. Do not invent credentials, testing or personal experience.
- Does it finish the task? A reader should not need five other articles to understand the basic answer.
- Is the page made for people? Remove filler, repeated keyword variations, fake urgency and paragraphs written only to create ad space.
Patterns worth fixing before applying
- many pages with the same introduction and heading sequence;
- outdated “best tools” lists that no longer verify availability, price or features;
- AI-generated summaries with no examples, sources or editorial review;
- near-duplicate tag, archive or location pages with almost no unique value;
- download pages that disguise buttons or send visitors through misleading redirects;
- unfinished course pages, placeholder text and empty categories;
- medical, financial or legal claims presented without suitable expertise and sourcing.
Improvement is normally better than publishing more of the same. MetaCyberGuru applies this principle to its free technology Academy: courses should teach a usable skill through lessons and projects, not exist as thin pages built around keyword variations.
Make the site easy to inspect and use
A reviewer should be able to start on the homepage and understand what the site publishes, who operates it and where to find the main content. Check the experience in a private browser window so an administrator cookie does not hide a problem.
- Use a consistent main menu with working links.
- Link the About, Contact and Privacy Policy pages from a visible location.
- Provide clear next steps between related articles or course lessons.
- Fix broken internal links and buttons that lead to 404 pages.
- Avoid intrusive overlays that cover the article or make navigation difficult on mobile.
- Do not show empty menu items, fake download controls or sections labelled “coming soon” as if they were complete.
Search, archive and feed pages should also return a normal response. A polished article does not help if the homepage intermittently shows a database error.
Perform a policy review, not a keyword scan
Google Publisher Policies cover more than adult content. Review the current policies directly because prohibited or restricted categories and enforcement details can change. Pay particular attention to:
- illegal content, copyright infringement and counterfeit goods;
- dangerous products, dishonest behavior and content that enables abuse;
- misrepresentation, deceptive navigation and misleading claims;
- malware, unwanted software and pages that interfere with user control;
- privacy, consent and the handling of personally identifiable information;
- invalid traffic, encouraged clicks and layouts that cause accidental clicks.
Owning the text is not enough if a page embeds an unlicensed image, song lyric, software download or copied table. Keep records for media licenses and replace material whose origin cannot be established.
Privacy and consent are separate tasks
A privacy policy explains what the site collects, why it is collected, which services receive data and how users can exercise relevant choices. A consent message records or communicates choices where required. One does not automatically replace the other.
Before serving ads, review Google’s current consent requirements for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. Google requires affected publishers using its products to use a certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Configure the solution appropriate to your audience and legal obligations; do not copy another site’s policy without matching it to your actual tools.
Technical checks before requesting review
Run these checks as a logged-out visitor on desktop and mobile:
- Availability: homepage, menu pages and several articles return HTTP 200 consistently.
- HTTPS: pages and important resources load securely without mixed-content warnings.
- Crawl controls: the site is not accidentally blocked by a maintenance mode, firewall rule, robots setting or site-wide noindex directive.
- Canonical URLs: each important page points to the intended public URL.
- Performance: pages render in a reasonable time and do not depend on a missing script or stylesheet.
- Mobile layout: text, menus, tables and buttons remain usable on a narrow screen.
- AdSense connection: the site URL in the account is correct and any required code or verification method is present.
Do not claim that Core Web Vitals pass without measuring them. More importantly, do not ignore intermittent server errors just because one speed test succeeded. Check at different times and investigate database, cache and hosting failures separately from content quality.
What to do after an AdSense rejection
Start with evidence. Save the email, inspect the AdSense account for site-specific details, and note the date and state of the site when it was reviewed. Then create a change log.
- Confirm that Google reviewed the intended domain and that the site is accessible.
- Read the linked policy or readiness guidance in the account.
- Inspect the whole public site, not only the newest five posts.
- Prioritize clear violations, broken navigation and server failures before cosmetic SEO changes.
- Rewrite weak pages in place when they serve a legitimate audience; remove only material you cannot lawfully or safely publish.
- Verify the live result after caches clear.
- Resubmit only after the identified work is complete.
Repeatedly pressing “Resubmit” without meaningful changes does not improve the site. A smaller set of verified corrections is more useful than a large batch of untested edits.
AdSense readiness checklist
- Every main navigation link works for a logged-out visitor.
- The homepage clearly explains the site’s topic and directs users to substantial content.
- About, Contact and Privacy Policy pages are complete and accessible.
- Important articles have a clear author or publisher identity.
- Old claims, prices, versions and recommendations have been reviewed.
- No page promises guaranteed income, rankings or approval.
- No content or media is copied or used without permission.
- No tool or article facilitates policy-violating or unlawful activity.
- No empty, duplicate or placeholder pages are promoted through navigation.
- The site remains available and usable on mobile.
- Google’s current Publisher Policies have been reviewed against the live site.
- Consent and privacy disclosures match the actual advertising and analytics setup.
Frequently asked questions
Can AdSense approve a website in three days?
It can happen, but it cannot be promised. Google says reviews usually take a few days and may take two to four weeks. Approval depends on the account and live site, not a countdown.
How many posts do I need for AdSense?
Google’s public eligibility guidance does not set one universal minimum post count. Ten excellent pages do not guarantee approval, and one hundred weak pages do not create quality. Publish enough original material to make the site complete and useful for its intended audience.
Do I need a minimum amount of traffic?
Google’s general eligibility page does not publish a universal traffic threshold for a standard content-site application. You still need legitimate content and a real audience strategy; purchased, automated or incentivized traffic can create policy and invalid-traffic problems.
Should I remove other ad networks before applying?
Do not assume another network is automatically disqualifying. The important questions are whether the layout and ads comply with Google’s policies, whether the site remains usable, and whether other scripts create deceptive behavior or privacy problems. Review the current policies and each network’s terms.
Can someone guarantee approval for a fee?
No outside consultant controls Google’s decision. A professional can audit accessibility, content and policy compliance, but a guaranteed decision or guaranteed approval date is not credible.
