Identify the exact problem

Think of one real situation where you need this language. Say one phrase before reading further.

Six phrases solve six different needs

Say I don’t understand when the whole message is unclear. Add Please repeat when you need the same words again.

Use Slowly, please when the speed is the problem. Use What does this word mean? when only one word blocks you.

Ask What is this? about a visible thing. Ask How do you say ___ in English? when you know the idea in another language.

A word is one unit, such as phone. A sentence gives a complete message. A question asks for information. These labels appear across the Academy.
